Before tonight, my last post was about six weeks ago. I needed a small break, but then other things intruded and a short break turned into a rather long one. One of the things that has been occupying my time and energy is the resurrection of an idea a good friend and I had tried to launch back in the late 90's. Well, then the technology was bleeding edge and the Internet "bubble" (which I don't think was really a bubble) was about to burst. We lacked a couple key players on our team, and, all in all, the timing just wasn't quite right. Now, however, we have, as if moved by an outside force, suddenly a team with all the right talents and abilities. We also have a more mature technology which will readily support our product/service. In short, the time is right and we have almost everything we need to get this puppy off the ground. What is missing? In a word: Money. Right now, we are doing everything on the cuff. I'm putting in another full work week in addition to my "day" job. We have to schedule sales trips when our premier sales person's current employer sends him to places we need him to go. However, I am optimistic. I think we are at the right place, at the right time with the right people and the right product/service. This is going to work. And, when it does begin to move ahead with some resources behind it, I am goint to be as busy as a one-handed pickpocket in Grand Central Station during rush hour. And I'll love it. So, if anyone out there would like to invest in a "Next Wave" business, let me know...*grin* Meanwhile, I'm getting much more serious about my time management. I vow to carve out a couple hours a week to post here. And in the other online journals I have as time permits (they are of lower importance to me: this is my primary Blog...)
