The Mark(ings) of Zorro
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
H.L. Mencken

OK, where'd they go??

If you can see my "comment" links, please email me because I can't. The first set I had running here were from Halo. Halo got popular and slow, so I switched to enetation out of Britian. Well, they've plain disappeared today. (OK, OK...I haven't actually checked their site for any news, but, still...) Now, it seems that Blogger now does comments in house, as it were, so I think that tomorrow after work I'll update my commenting to the Blogger variety. Let's see if this'll work better.

As you might have noted, the most recent set of posts to this Blog have been of the "column" variety. I think that is going to be a permanent thing here. While there will be occassional posts like this (mainly discussing housekeeping) and even more occassional posts of a more personal nature, for the most part I think you should expect this space to be used mainly for my commentary type pieces. A long time ago, like right after I graduated from college, I attempted to write for a living. While I got some stuff published, it was not enough to put bread on the table and a roof over our heads. Then I got involved with kids, houses (and concomittant mortgages with those nasty payments) and the whole suburban lifestyle. Needless to say, my writing got shoved into the background. Well, I'm not getting paid for this, but I am starting to develop a readership of two or three people. So, for better or worse, I think I'm going to make this my Journal of Record for my thoughts. If you want the more personal side of me, you'll find that stuff on my LiveJournal page. Today, for example, I posted a little bit about my workrooom in the basement along with relevant pictures. A Pilgrim's Progress is my Journal's name, and you can get it as an RSS feed by clicking on the button over in the left hand column of this page.

Update: I went out to the Enetation.com site and found, in the forum, that this problem seems to be very wide spread. I am definitely going to switch to the Blogger variety of comments when I get home later this afternoon.

Urgent Update: The "comments" are still broken. I have to see what I've done here. I may have snipped the wrong piece of code when I was cutting and pasting stuff. Check back for further developments...*sign*
