More ruminations, rambles, rants and raves from the downhill side of the mountain.

Now that I have BottomFeeder and can zip through the feeds of a lot of blogs relatively quickly, I find that I keep stumbling over gems out there which I have to include in my referral list. A case in point is the road to surfdom. This is, at least so far, a sparkling little gem that I would have never, in the normal course of events, have found. One of the things I like is that I am totally unsure about where Tim is posting from. Could be the USofA or it could be The Land Down Under--I'm just not sure. Maybe if I read some of his archives it will become clearer. But this is what makes the Internet sooo brilliant: You can live in the most remote place imaginable, but, so long as you have an Internet connection, you are as plugged in as someone living in one of the major metropolitan areas of the world. So this is why the stupid attacks by various jerks piss me off so much. A handful of brain damaged ('cause that is all they can be), primarily male ('cause that also seems to fit the Hacker personality profile) misfits are doing their damnedest to wreck one of humanity's great inventions. Spam, DOS attacks, viruses, trojans and all the other ways these fools are hammering away at the infrastructure are the products of people who are just plain ignorant...or genuinely evil. The other source of all this stuff could very well be persons who are attacking the west on all fronts, and cyberspace is one place where we are vunerable. This is an interesting subject which will require some further thought...
