I think I'm beginning to understand why Saddam Hussein kept his supposed WMD in play all these years. It has to do with the satellite photos of Terhan just recently released. I am talking about the building with dissappeared along with the first few feet of topsoil from the site. Speculation has it that this is a smoking gun pointing directly at Iran's pursuit of membership in the nuclear club. What Saddam was worried about was that the Ayatollahs would drop a couple on Bagdhad at the first opportunity. So here the "poor" guy is; if he admits not to having WMD, there is a very high probability that Iran will drop one on the top of his pointy little head, but, on the other hand, if he claims he has WMD, there is an equally good chance that the son of his old nemesis will send the 1st Armored to pay a call. All in all, he was not a thrilling position to be in. So, he chooses to walk the tightrope and hope that he can stay up there until he gets past either the rock or the hard place. Unfortunately for him, looks like the rock got him. Now, I know that he is not a nice man (read: evil as the Prince of Darkness), but our president was only looking for an excuse to invade. He had no actual casus belli to justify his action. And that, according to our law, is illegal. Tch!
