This was originally posted on the blog space I was playing with over on Earthlink. Unfortunately, their interface and publishing tools leave a great deal to be desired. So, I am moving the few posts of interest which I have over there to this blog. It is better, in the long run, to have only one of these to worry about. He lied. Our President flat out lied to us. First he told his people exactly what "intelligence" he wanted to cross his desk, and then he lied to us as to its veracity. Now, this was not lying about oral sex between two consenting adults. This was lying about something that has gotten hundreds of our fellow citizens killed. Talk about moral turpitude! I want now to see the right wing "holier-than-thou" conservatives up on their high moral horses about this gross abuse of public trust and the power of the presidency. I won't, of course, but I'd like to see that. The Democrats had best spend the next nine months (or so) screaming about this to the high heavens. Every voter in this great country needs to know that George Bush is a liar and that he has caused the death of his fellow citizens for his own personal motives. This war had nothing to do with Iraq's danger to other players on the world stage; it did have to do with the Bush family's obsession with Saddam Hussein. There was no reason in the world to put American citizens in harms way in Iraq. At least, none that the conservatives did not excoriate Clinton for when he went into both Somalia and Bosnia. If Bush had said that Hussein was an international criminal and pariah who needed to be removed from power, then we could have debated this war rationally. Perhaps we might have even agreed (I know I would have) and supported military action. Instead, Bush lied to us, to our friends and to the rest of the world. He has done major damage to our reputation and credibility. By all rights, George Bush should be impeached, thrown out of office then prosecuted for criminal misconduct and thrown in jail. This won't ever happen. However, the next best thing would be to vote him the hell out of office. This can happen and, to save our Republic, it must.
