It has now been Capitalized...The Illness. I went to the ear, nose and throat guy today. First, let me say that he is a very nice doctor...of about my age (God is that depressing since he looked grandfatherly: eeep! I are one!! Grandfather, that is...) He looked in my ears and my nose and clucked sadly. Seems I have fluid in both ears now and a hearing loss of about 30% (mol) in both ears. There is also "green gunk" back there (which, I have to tell you, did not sound good to me...) which precluded him from doing some of his more magic trick on my plumbing up there. In the end I was sent home with a course of steroids to reduce the inflamation and swelling in my eustacian tube which should allow the fluid to drain and solve part of the problem. He also gave me an antibiotic in the form of a horse pill. Both the steriod and the horse pill are to be taken over the next six days. I really hope this works 'cause I'm tired of not being able to hear because it feels like my head is stuffed with cotton. More thrilling installments of "As the stomach churns" will follow...
