July of 1979, my esposa and I shook the pine needles out of our hair and bade farewell to Maine. She was a native and I had been living there for most of the 70s, but we had just gone through a particularly hard winter and had had enough. We moved to Florida where it was bright and warm all year long (mostly). I was never at home there although she adapted with alarming speed. Comes 1991, and I uproot her supposedly to move to Philly...but that job fell apart because of the first Iraqi war...so we ended up back here in Joisey where we reside to this day. So, today I stumble across one of those stupid quizzes one finds online from time to time. I took the damn thing, and this was my result: Maine is your state. It's pretty and nice and quiet and not crowded. I love Maine, so do you. What State Is Perfect For You? brought to you by Quizilla Maybe I should have stayed where I was 25 years ago. All I can say is that, if I had, my life would probably be very, very different today.
