Once again it dawned on me that there are a couple blogs on my daily "read" list which annoy me. I mean, I have virtually zero in common with the people writing them. My moment of clarity doesn't concern these blogs so much as the reason I continue to read them. I am such a creature of habit and momentum. As I look back on my life, this propensity is probably the number one thing I'd want to change. I have stayed in situations I knew were at best wrong and at worst destructive for extended periods of time simply because I was loath to change. Or, rather, I had, and have, a prediliction for maintaining the status quo. Better the devil I know than whatever it is I don't know. And this is why I find my personal navigation box on my home page (yeah, yeah...Earthlink's personal start page. Hey, it works for me, but, again, it is one of those things which I coast with rather than go through the hassle of change...) populated with a number of sites which I started reading when I was very new to blogging and have continued to keep as links. For example, there is one lady who I started reading because she was 1) over 40, 2)from Joisey and 3) knows some about how to write well. Unfortunately, for the most part I find that I do not agree with her politics or her priorities as espoused in her Blog. And here is another problem. For all I know, she is totally opposite to how she portrays herself in her blog. For that matter, she could be a guy doing a little role playing. That is one of the risks of Blogdom: you only know what the other person is willing to share with the rest of the world. Nonetheless, I feel the need to weed out my links both here and on my browser's home page. That will be my goal when I get home from work tonight: clean up my blog links and get rid of those who don't do much for either my psyche or my soul.
