AMEN GEORGE [SNIP...GOT RID OF THE GRAPHIC THAT WASN'T WORKING ANYHOW] YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN by George Carlin I Am Your Worst Nightmare. I am a BAD American. I am George Carlin. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid level governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican! I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way, damn it! And I believe that we all have a moral obligation to pay for the infrastructure we all take for granted. I also believe that in this, the richest, most powerful nation in the world, no child should go to bed hungry, cold or at risk of injury. I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American. And I think that owning a gun means 1) Taking the same firearms course the police are given and 2) maintaining your proficiency by passing quarterly--that's quarterly--tests on the "Main Street USA" range. (Ranges paid for by YOUR taxes, operating personel paid for by the fees of those who utilize these ranges. I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything, you don't work for! Except when you are subjected to prejudice and hate. It does not entitle you to something you haven't worked for other than having the door unlocked and the gatekeepers prevented from excluding you simply because you are a minority. I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, try to do it in English. And if you are a citizen of the United States start speaking the language. This one I agree with. If I went to live in another country, I would expect to have to learn the language of that country. The same should apply for those coming to live here. I think fireworks should be legal on the 4th of July. This one I agree with also. I think that being a student doesn't give you any more enlightenment than working at Blockbuster. In fact, if your parents are footing the bill to put your pansy ass through 4 years plus, of college, you haven't begun to be enlightened. Nope, I don't think working in retail is very enlightening. Most kids working in Blockbuster are still living at home anyhow...this is a straw man type argument. I'm a little disappointed with George here. I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to. And, again, this one I agree with also. My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whoever canceled Jerry Springer. Well, I can get behind that last one. As for the others, we have two movie stars and a sports legend. My heroes tend to be more on the order of Lincoln, King, and Joseph Campbell. I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. Depends upon how the rich got rich and the poor got poor. If the rich got rich by screwing (in any way, shape or form) their fellow citizens, then I do have a low opinion of them. If the poor got poor through their own stupidity, I feel a certain obligation to take care of them. After all, stupidity is a genetic trait that cannot be helped. Ignorance, otoh, implies the ability to learn but a conscious rejection of using one's intellect. If one became poor through his/her own fault, then I have little sympathy. I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time arguing about it. Works for me... I think global warming is a big lie. Where are all those experts now, when I'm freezing my ass off during these long winters and paying, paying, paying? Nope, this is just plain wrong. Global warming has little to do with local temperatures. What Global Warming means is that there is more energy in the system and, therefore, weather patterns will be unpredictable. Cold winters are perfectly in accord with Global Warming. On the other hand, consider that we are at the very end of a Glacial Interregnum so Global Warming could be balancing a natural trend towards Global Cooling. In which case it is good. However, the fact remains that it does exist. I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I didn't wander forty years In the desert after getting chased out of Egypt. I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut-the-Hell-up already. I have to admit to a certain sympathy for this viewpoint. Let's make sure that especially the slavery thing and the persecution, whether by Turks or some Neo-Nazis, can't happen again. As long as we do that, I'm happy. I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson practices, which branch of the Government he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution. I don't have the answers to any of these questions, and, for the most part, I don't really give a damn. Can I get an AMEN on that one? Nah, not enough interest on my part one way or the other. I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you're running from them. I also think they have the right to pull your ass over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are. The cops most certainly DO NOT have the right to shoot anyone in the back. They do, however, have the right to sic the dogs on anyone who runs from a legitimate order to halt. And if the perp (see...cop talk) is dumb enough to threaten a police dog who is carrying out a legitimate task (i.e. chewing the crap out of the perp's leg), the the cops have the right to shoot that person's sorry ass. However, if the citizen doesn't have a weapon, then the cops can't shoot. Sorry, that's the way it has to be. If you want the cops to be able to shoot fleeing criminal suspects, then you have to make sure that all suspects are armed. I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years. Ooops, I thought we were a democracy here. I thought we were supposed to encourage people to exercise their franchise. Otherwise, someday somebody might decide that aging comics shouldn't be allowed to vote...or to own property or to perform in public. I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me crap or trying to guilt me into making "donations" to their cause. These people should be targets. Yep, targets. Open season on 'em. Works for me... I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents, a married man and woman. Depends on the kid and the parents. Some kids do "take a village" while others practically raise themselves. It also depends upon the two adults. There are large numbers of so-called adults who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a kid. For the kids of those parents, I sincerely hope that there is "a village" around to protect them from their putative parents. I believe if she has her lips on your Willie, it's sex, and this applies even if you are President of the United States. I'm afraid this is true. Sorry, Bill, but we do have a name for this...it's called ORAL SEX!! However, having oral sex even outside the bounds of marriage is not grounds for impeachment. The only two people who had legitimate gripes in that case were Hillary and Monica. The rest of the nation should have shut the fuck up and butted out. And what the hell is going on with gas prices... again? It's just some of those rich people you don't have a problem with ripping the rest of the country off...again. If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American. If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone you know. We need our country back! We have our country as it is. What you can't get back is what it was 50 years ago. There are too many more people and too much new technology. Go read Alvin Toffler (another hero of mine) and then deal with what we've got.
