The Mark(ings) of Zorro
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
H.L. Mencken

Well, this is interesting. The text entry box for Blogger, when using Netscape 7.1 is itty-bitty, teeny-weeny--just like it used to be, but is no longer, in Opera. Now Opera has a nice, big text entry field and Netscape has the cramped quarters. There are other problems with the way Netscape is displaying Blogger's New Post page which makes life difficult. Plus ca change, plus ca meme chose (without the appropriate accent marks but I'm too damn lazy right now to use the character map tool to put them in).

The big news is that Earthlink has opened up a blogging tool. They are using Trellix to build blogs, and, from what I can see so far, this is a pretty inclusive tool. The templates are editable, one can add pictures and other fun stuff, there is an area for posting comments and there is a way to promote your blog. All in all, heady stuff. I was thinking about moving up to Blogger Pro or over to Movable Type, but if this option from Earthlink (who I already pay for web access) does what I want, there will be no need to pay somebody else. So, for the next couple weeks, I'll be posting duplicate entries to both sites. The down side to this is that I find it almost impossible to post to Blogger using Netscape and absolutely impossible to post to Earthlink/Trellix using Opera. Oh well, I'll work it out. Because I am such a fan of Fox News, I have titled this new site The Fair and Balanced Journal. I do love irony...
