I am speaking to all political moderates and liberals out there. It is time we harked back to the heady days of 73-74 when, with the help of a couple bulldog reporters, we developed enough backbone to throw the scoundrel(s) out on his/their ear(s). It is time for the Coulters, Hannitys and Savages to crawl back under their respective rocks and disappear for another 27 years. Of course, the only way that is going to happen is 1) by not buying their books or listening to their radio broadcastss--hit 'em in the pocketbooks-- and 2) by responding to their attacks with vigorous counterattacks of our own. For example, there is a political cartoonist named Wright who recently published a political cartoon in which a somewhat unpalatable Democratic donkey is seen making mountains out of what is labeled "Iraqi intelligence molehills". This cannot be let pass unchallenged. The "Iraqi intelligence molehill" was used to send our sons and daughters in harm's way. There have been casualties and some of those put in harm's way have come home in body bags. This is not a molehill, this is a mountain chain which needs to be fully and completely explored in a public venue. Did our president and his administration coldly, and possibly illegally, manipulate public opinion through the use of this patently false intelligence? Have we yet found any evidence of a credible program of WMD production in Iraq? Or was the president's agenda fueled by issues closer to his home (oil and daddy?) These are not "molehill" kinds of questions. In fact, they are more substantive towards proving the president guilty of "high crimes and misdemeanors" which are impeachable offenses. Tally-ho...let the hunt begin...
