A coworker who is much more tuned into things like this shared some interesting information with me yesterday. Seems that the Barnes & Noble store in North Brunswick is looking for an Assistant Store Manager. One of our Department Managers is applying for that position. He used to work for that store, and would like to go back (although I'm not quite sure why...). The upside is that, if he gets the job, it will open a management position at my store; and I would be very interested in that. The downsides of the situation are: 1)The gentleman in question has already been passed over twice by our District Manager, so there is a very real chance that he would not get this, and 2) Were everthing to fall perfectly into place and I was offered the management slot, I would probably have to give up taking care of the granddaughter at least one day a week. This last point is a real point of concern. I'll have to talk to my daughter-in-law about it...today. And, speaking thereof, it is time for me to go begin to prepare for Herself's arrival. Hopefully, more later...
