The Mark(ings) of Zorro
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
H.L. Mencken

Minutiae of my life

Well, the old Micron P-150, which was supposed to be my Linux network server, is actually going off to live with my daughter, the artist. She has the need of a computer that will run Office 2000 so she can do her consulting work while she gets her career as a serious artist off the ground, and this machine fits all the criteria...especially the most important one: it's free! This just means I have to go find another machine to fill the role of network server. (Actually, it becomes an excuse to begin to agitate for a new box for me so this one can become my game machine and the 233 becomes the network server...heh, heh...

I have discovered a new joy in life: the redeye! The redeye is actually a caffinated beverage (attention JM) which does the trick for me. What it consists of is a regular Starbucks refill of my official B&N mug and a shot (or double) of espresso. You get the goodness of the espresso spread out over 12 ounces instead of the three swallows a single shot makes. Works for me...

Today is my day off from work. My sweet wife is home and helping with the baby which is cool. However, instead of staying home and working in the yard (which desperately needs it), we are off to Brooklyn to deliver the above referenced computer among other things. Actually, my three ladies ( Grammy, auntie and baby) are off to the Moma's temporary digs to see the current show (which is important, but I have forgotten just who is being shown) while I wander off to spend the afternoon at the AMNH (that's American Museum of Natural History for all you non-members). I look forward to an afternoon in the planetarium followed by a brief visit to the blue whale. Then it will be dinner with the daughter and home.

It is the most exciting thing I will have done in a year. I don't know if I can keep up the pace of this breathtaking existence. *sigh*
