More ruminations, rambles, rants and raves from the downhill side of the mountain.

It is time to start doing stuff with the computer that I have been putting off for...oohhh...a couple years. Like, for instance, the fact that I have two error messages that pop up everytime I have to reboot. Like the fact that I do have to reboot at least once a day because Earthlink's DSL service doesn't use a DHCP server and I can't get this machine to stop looking for one. (It has to do with bindings and crap like that...) I have been reluctant to change anything because (bad me) I haven't done a full system backup in about 4 years. I keep trusting that everything will continue to work sorta OK...or OK enough to get by. I've got to bite the bullet and start working on the machine again. That might mean that I am gone for awhile since I am going to be playing with things that are integral to my Internet connection, but it is something that I'm gonna have to risk... Oh yeah...my Haloscan commenting has been real iffy for the past week or so. Like today it is down again. Now, I don't know if this is due to their popularity simply swamping their servers or whether it has other, darker, origins. Whatever, commenting is down so, if anyone (Anyone? Buelller? Anyone?) wants to say anything to me, please use the email link. Thanks...
