More ruminations, rambles, rants and raves from the downhill side of the mountain.
Just so you know exactly where I stand vis-a-vis today's polarized politics, let me recommend this organization to you.

So, my machine no longer hunts in vain for a DHCP server because, it seems, all I had to do was disable the DHCP client. That was hard! And all it took to repair my ancient (yeah...in computer years, something about 8 years old is ancient) Visioneer Paperport Vx scanner was reinstalling the software. No muss, no fuss...Now I get to go through the joy of installing a new version of Office. No, not XP...I'm still resisting XP. However, I will upgrade to Office 2000. Other than that, not much is new in my life. And that bothers me a little. I mean, here I read other Blogs and see what quasi-interesting stuff happens in their lives, and then I contemplate my own...dull existence. I mean, I spend 8:30 until I either go to work or her mother shows up catering to my granddaughter's every whim. That pretty much eats up my life Monday through Friday. Then on the weekend, I work in the vinyards (OK, stacks) of a major bookseller during the day--both days. My days off from that job are weekdays...but on those days I have the baby. I dunno, it just seems like my life is very routine and very circumscribed. Now, don't get me wrong, I love taking care of "my baby"; it is just the things that I find interesting would bore anyone not her parents or grandparents to death--quickly. Sorry, dear readers, that there is so little in my purview to expound upon. And Haloscan still appears to be broken. One cannot even access their website. I visit a few other Blogs which use Haloscan commenting, and they are all without that capability right now, so I know that I am not being singled out...(ok, so a have flashes of paranoia...they aren't too debilitating most of the time...). So, I apologize for the delay in the page opening (as it waits for Haloscan to reply by confirming the viability of the link. Maybe tomorrow...
