I have noticed recently that Mr. Bush is awarding a lot of contracts for the rebuilding of Iraq to his political supporters. Now, I'm not saying this is not how politics works. I am saying that this was one of the reasons for the war. Another reason for the war might be found in those sympathetic souls (sympathetic to American economic interests) whom the Bush administration is hand-picking to run Iraq for the foreseeable future (in other words, until we remove our troops and these puppets are overthrown.) The mendacity of the the Republicans should be broadcast loud and wide by the Democrats. Speaking of politics, on a more local level (i.e. the State of New Jersey level), I see that there is a coalition of the wealthy in this state who are advocating a higher tax upon the rich. As one of them said (paraphrased), an extra couple of percent in taxes doesn't affect my spending patterns at all. I would prefer to live in a society where we maintain our infrastructure and take care of those least able to care for themselves (i.e. the very, very poor and the handicapped.)" It is time that the Ayn Rand followers out there were put in the spotlight they assiduously try to redirect with their attacks on the "liberals". You know, this "I want mine and fuck the rest of you" attitude is not what this country was founded upon. They are the least "American" (if you mean by that appellation somebody who takes his duties as a sovereign citizen as seriously as he takes the rights granted by the Constitution) of those who claim that label. The greedy and the shallow have had their time in the sun...it is time that they slink back under their rocks where they more rightly belong. And with that, after a vodka-on-the-rocks, I think I'll toddle off to bed. A little liquor does wonders, eh? *grin*Good-night Mrs. Calloway, wherever you are...(I think that is the right name)...
