Although one might wish for a simpler time when things weren't nearly so dire, it is not to be. I have reached my first goals of this new career, and now I have to learn how to really sell books. Up until now, I've been nothing more than a sales clerk. From this point on, I'm going to have responsibility for maintaining proper inventory for a zone in the store. I'll be responsible for computers, travel, business, science, nature and pets. It is going to mean a lot more work and considerable study as I learn how to merchandise my books. I expect to be at this level for a couple years as I learn the business and move up the seniority ladder. My next goal is a strong evaluation in October. That'll keep me on course... And that qualifies as a daily entry 'cause I haven't gone to bed yet. Not earthshaking, but at least I am keeping to the discipline.
