It's raining today. Actually, the weather forecast is for freezing rain, but that hasn't (as yet) materialized, and I wouldn't mind if the rain stayed liquid and melted off some of the snow. I still need to put mulch around the rose bushes in the back and I have to put up some outside lights in front. Last year we skipped the lights entirely, and, as a result, our house looked a little...depressed. I am definitely going to put up lights this year. We have gotten the tree up, though. She is hosting her school's annual Christmas party this year. That means 42 Montessori teachers will be gathered at our place on Friday. We have to be decorated by then (and I have to be someplace else...anyplace else...) both inside and out. I'm going to be busy between now and then! The baby is absolutely amazed that a tree grew in "her" living room over night. I can hardly wait until tomorrow when there are lights on it...and Friday when it is all decorated. Fortunately, we have the bottom quarter of the tree's decoration set for persons of her age and interests (they are either soft or unbreakable; all we really have to watch is for her pulling herself up using the tree as a support.) Also, even more fortunately, mi esposa is on Christmas break beginning Friday afternoon, so I'll have two extra hands and eyes on hand while the tree is up. That will make life easier as far as the small person is concerned.
