The eating of the turkey is over. It will take my system a week to get back to equilibrium. Started out with cocktails and hors d'ouvres at about 3pm: Vodka on the rocks with a twist, crackers and a yummy cooked artichoke dip, salmon and cream cheese on crackers, shrimp and shrimp sauce and cashews. Then we moved on to the main meal: A huge turkey with a chestnut stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams with pecans and something else (which I didn't quite identify, but was good), the traditional green bean casserole, brussel sprouts with sundried tomatoes, cranberry bread, two kinds of cranberry (jellied sauce and chutney), gravy, raw veggies and a nice Columbia River Sauvignon Blanc. Dessert was three different kinds of pie (apple, pumpkin and pecan, all made from scratch by my wife who makes some of the best pies in the world) and a hazelnut blend coffee. I feel somewhat akin to a beached whale... And the goddamn haloscan commenting is broken...again!!
